Avery McAdams believes in order to truly be herself she needs to keep her head down, her guard up and her focus on her career. Until she’s hired by sexy, charismatic Ryker Li to pull off the event of the century, and he shows up personally to convince her to handle his next party. When she meets him face-to-face, she realizes a piece of her wants him to see her as attractive, which goes against everything she’s convinced herself she believes.
Rich, powerful Ryker has made an art form of getting what he wants, when he wants it, and then moving on. But something about Avery makes him want to stick around.
When he finds everything he never dreamed to look for in a woman, can the billionaire playboy commit to the biggest deal of all? Or will a lifetime of mistrust and suspicion turn them forever into rivals?
IT’S INTERVIEW TIME!
Hi Terri! Thanks for hosting me on your blog. I enjoyed answering your questions. Take care.
Can you tell us about where you grew up and what your childhood was like?
First off, thanks for hosting me on your blog today. I grew up in a small Midwest town. I spent most of my childhood outside. By some counts, I was up a tree with a book in my nose for most of it. When my feet hit the ground, I was most likely chasing my older brother around on my bike. He’d make all these daring and dangerous bike ramps, and I’d do my best to follow him. He had one rule. He tested it first for ‘safety’. I think he just wanted to be the first one to stand on the pedals, pull up the handlebars, and fly.
When did you realize you wanted to become a writer?
I always knew. I always felt an unexplainable pull toward writing from early on. By the time I was in high school, I wrote poetry. I still do occasionally, but it’s personal. I rarely share it. I’ve been a reporter and freelance marketing writer. Writing is such a part of me. My all-time favorite form of writing is what I do now.
I see this is your first novel. How long did it take to complete it?
This is my first published novel. I’ve written a few others. I wrote this story in three months. Then the real work began. Editing. From the time I wrote SEDUCING AVERY to the time it was contracted took two years. I worked on a lot of stories in between.
Was the writing process what you expected?
Oh, good question. I’d have to say yes and no. I expected the process to be hard. It was. What I didn’t realize is the real story comes through during the editing process. I believed the real work was in writing the draft. I know better now.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to read and watch movies. I also enjoy playing video games with my kids. What else? Cooking is big for me. I love trying new foods. I’ve been living on recipe.com lately. I love to travel. Lots of places I’ve visited end up in my books.
What type of music do you listen to?
My taste in music is really eclectic. I listen to everything from classical to hip hop, and pretty much everything in between. A lot depends on my mood. Does anyone remember bluegrass? My dad used to play it all the time. Love it!
What is your favorite type of film?
I love films that make me laugh, so I’m a big fan of romantic comedies. I also love action/adventure or pretty much anything adrenaline-fueled.
What are your upcoming projects?
I have another Asian billionaire story in the pipeline and one in the works. GONE, my romantic women’s fiction/suspense is coming out this year as well. It’s a story about a woman who wakes from a nightmare so visceral her entire body is shaking. She can think of only one thing—save her son! But the men in scrubs who soon rush in and jab her in the ass with a needle don’t share her sense of urgency. What’s more, she wakes days later to be told that not only is there no boy, but she’s in a mental institution. Her nightmare was so real—her arms still freshly imprinted with memories of holding her son—she’s confused. And her instincts tell her to trust no one.
Gone is her child. Gone are her memories. Everything is…GONE.

My favorite films have changed through the years Barb but if I had to pick one today it would be the 1997 version of Titanic. Jack and Rose had such a powerful love at a time of great loss. But I want to think it was this one great love that made having a happy life without him possible. Cherri Miller

Barb, Fun interview. You sound so “normal” but the Billionaire story in the pipeline is slightly demented. Great job.

Best wishes on the release. I love that the hero is Asian. That’s pretty rare in a romance.
Barb Han said,

Thank you so much, Jen! There are some seriously hot Asian men, but trying to find any in stock photo for the book trailer was interesting. Lots of cheesy-looking smiles and bad hair/clothing. Oiy-vey! I’d love to see an Asian male romantic lead in a movie just to mix things up!

Hey, Barb. Good interview as usual. What an exciting year for you with is that 3 books coming out? Way to go, girl.
(I so dislike Titanic. I thought she was stupid to get invovled with the younger guy. Maybe she didn’t need to marry the older guy, but that just didn’t fly for me. And hey, give me a HEA, or I’m not reading or watching! LOL) Barb I can count on for an HEA.

Sounds like a great read. You’re a new author to me so I’ll be wandering over to amazon this afternoon to do some shopping. Always on the lookout for writers that I enjoy. Sadly I read faster than ya’ll write, so I’m always on the lookout for new to me authors. Good luck with the new book!
